The Collins-Maxwell FFA attended the National FFA Convention, Oct. 30 – Nov. 2. It was the grand return of the convention to Louisville, Ky. Collins-Maxwell traveled on a chartered bus with chapters from Gutherie Center, Adair-Casey and Tipton. FFA members attended the opening session, leadership workshops, career fair, Churchill Downs, Buffalo Trace Distillery and general FFA business sessions.
Members were awarded for their commitment during the past year. Members that attended were: Nina Morris, Steph Twohey, Katherine Hodge, Sean Deakins, Nathan Wright, Jacob Stratton, Bailey Holgate, parent chaperone Sarah Wright and FFA advisor Mr. Jamie Waddingham. FFA members also presented their experiences to the school board. It was a great experience for everyone involved.
Chapter receives funding from Farmers Cooperative Company
The Collins-Maxwell FFA recently received money from the Farmers Cooperative Company, also known as FC. FC has been supporting the youth of agriculture through its established Education Enrichment program. The FFA used the money they received to purchase new items to learn more about soils.
