Thrivent Financial and Habitat for Humanity of Central Iowa (HFHCI) were present in Huxley at the ground-blessing ceremony for the eighth “Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity” house for HFHCI. Craig and Kathie Sommerfeld, Kreg Tool Company, donated $25,000 from their foundation, Kreg Cares. Thrivent presented HFHCI with $51,250 to build the Thrivent Builds home, as Thrivent Builds and HFHCI once again join together on a building project. Pastor Tom Prochnow, Habitat board president, gave the ground blessing and Gerald Holtan, president of the Story County Chapter of Thrivent Financial, gave the welcome.
