Hope Ministries announces Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week, Nov. 18-23

Hope Ministries is hosting special events and activities each day of the week during National Hunger & Homeless Awareness Week. The week is observed nationally Nov. 18-23 this year. The countrywide initiative is intended to raise awareness and educate the public about hunger and homeless issues.

As part of the initiative, nineteen local restaurants and companies will be providing a special meal or supplies throughout the week and the month of November through Hope Ministries’ Adopt-a-Meal program. Those participating include: Baker’s Squre, Casey’s, Centro, Chick-Fil-A (Jordan Creek and Paradise Pointe), Django, Echo Valley Country Club, Famous Dave’s on Merle Hay, Gateway Market, In the Bag, Merchant’s Bonding Company, Mezzodi’s, Northern Lights Pizza, QuikTrip, Red Lobster, Safari Club of Iowa, Scratch Cupcakery, Tasteful Dinners, Tasty Tacos and Zombie Burger.

Hope Ministries is also offering a variety of community involvement activities throughout the week, including:

Monday, Nov. 18: Annual Media Open House

Tuesday, Nov. 19: Church Engagement Events

Wednesday, Nov. 20: Open House and Resident Stories

Thursday, Nov. 21: Hope Prayer Team Event

Friday, Nov. 22: Meet the Faces of Homelessness on Facebook

Saturday, Nov. 23: Turkey Pickin’ and Make-a-Bed Events
