Hope Ministries to serve free meals on Thanksgiving Day

Accepting calls for in-home meal requests

Hope Ministries invites community members to their annual special Thanksgiving Day meal on Thursday, Nov. 28, from noon to 1:30 p.m.

The free meal is open to anyone at their Hope Café, connected to Hope Ministries’ Bethel Mission facility (1310 Sixth Ave.).

Hope Ministries will also deliver more than 2,000 meals to elderly, homebound and disadvantaged individuals and families throughout the metro area. Community members in Greater Des Moines Area may request meals by calling (515) 265-7272 ext. 111. Meal requests will be accepted until Friday, Nov. 22, at 4:30 p.m.

Hope Ministries is accepting donations of food for the Thanksgiving meal. A list of needed food items is available at www.hopeiowa.org or by calling 515-265-7272. Food donations can be dropped off at Hope Ministries’Bethel Mission on Wednesday, Nov. 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
