Live Healthy Iowa team dedicated to achieving wellness goals
Live Healthy Iowa is searching for five Iowans to be a part of the 2014 Dream Team. Apply now and you could win the chance to embark on your fitness journey with the support of Shawn Johnson, Dream Team Captain and owner of Johnson’s Elite Training in Osceola. The Dream Team will participate in Live Healthy Iowa’s 10 Week Wellness Challenge, Jan. 27 - April 4, in which Iowans commit to making healthy lifestyle habits while tracking weight loss and activity minutes.
“Once you get started with the Dream Team, leading a healthy lifestyle becomes routine. We all made the choice to put ourselves out in the public’s eye, so we have to stay with it and it’s great accountability,” says Jennifer Long, 2013 Dream Team member of Mount Pleasant.
The Dream Team will share their struggles, strategies and successes via social media throughout their journey. Team members will be provided with additional challenge resources such as support from team captain Shawn Johnson, pre and post health assessments, nutrition education, physical activity education, gym membership and a waived challenge fee. The team will be selected through an application and voting process.
“It’s so motivating to hear what each Dream Team member is doing to make healthy choices and be active. Sharing our successes and struggles is so motivating!” says Suzy Card, 2013 Dream Team member of Pella. Live Healthy Iowa’s 10 Week Wellness Challenge encourages teams of 2-10 Iowans to make positive lifestyle changes through tracking activity minutes and/or weight loss. Team members and the team captain inspire each other to go the extra mile while in friendly competition with other Iowa teams. Registration for the 10 Week Wellness Challenge will open on Dec. 16.
More information about the Dream Team and application materials are available now at www.livehealthyiowa.org. Applications must be submitted by Nov. 18. Live Healthy Iowa will choose 10 applicants to be voted for by Live Healthy Iowa Facebook fans Dec. 1-7. The five applicants with the most votes at the end of the voting period will win a spot on the Dream Team.
