The Marshall County Conservation Board announces the beginning of its spring Brown Bag Bunch series. The first session entitled “Iowa Geology Pizza” will be held on Monday, March 10 from 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m. at the GrimesFarm & Conservation Center (2359 233rd St., Marshalltown). MCCB Naturalist Diane Hall will help participants discover Iowa’s geologic natural resources, where they are mined, and what they are used for. Using fruit to symbolize Iowa’s rocks and minerals, the group will create an edible geology pizza after lunch. Participants should bring their own lunch and beverage.
The GrimesFarm is located just west of Marshalltown at 2359 233rd St., which is off Highland Acres Road between Iowa Avenue and West Lincolnway.
Future programs in the spring Brown Bag series include Iowa Owls at the GrimesFarm & Conservation Center and a Wildflower Walk at Grammer Grove. For more information contact MCCB at 752-5490.
