Jesse Barth of Huxley and Traci Reetz of Slater have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2013 semester at Mercy College of Health Sciences. To qualify, students must attain a grade point average (GPA) between 3.5 and 3.749 in their most recent semester, for a minimum of six credit hours.

Cassandra Vos of Polk City has been named to the president’s list for the fall 2013 semester at Mercy College of Health Sciences. To qualify, students must attain a grade point average (GPA) of 3.75 or higher, in their most recent semester, for a minimum of six credit hours.

Kelsey Bieghler of Polk City was conferred a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree on Dec. 14 from the Mercy College of Health Sciences.

The following area students were named to the dean’s list at the University of Northern Iowa for the fall 2013 semester:

Alleman - Amanda Greene, Kristyne Sharp

Elkhart - Adam Medick, Katie Stafford

Huxley - Kayla Bruns, Britni Rose, Chandler Schmidt

Madrid - Mikaela Ellison, Kimberly McCormick, Danielle Shearer, Jacob Musser

Maxwell - Kate Deakins, Emily Mcquiston, Casady Myers

Polk City - Danielle Hamilton, Stephanie Kibby, Laura Sindt, Michelle Temeyer

Slater - Katelynn Burt

To be included on the list, a student must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, while taking at least 12 hours of graded work during the semester.

The following students graduated from the University of Northern Iowa at the close of the fall 2013 semester:

Alleman - Monica Eddy, B.A., history

Madrid - Nathan Efkamp, B.A., elementary education; Jacob Gibson, B.A., biology

Maxwell - Erin Boyd, B.A., earth science

Polk City - Laura Sindt, B.A., family services, graduated with honors

The following individuals were named to the dean’s list at Simpson College for the fall semester (requires a GPA of 3.70 – 3.99): Aaron Haupert, Taylor Hofer, Collins; Maria Claussen, Elkhart; Grace Hall, Huxley; Autumn Fullerton, Maxwell and Natasha Shehade, Slater.

Megan Howard of Elkhart has been recognized as an Outstanding Business Administration Student by the faculty at AIB College of Business. To receive the honor, Howard, who is earning a B.S. degree in business administration had to attain a GPA of 3.75 or higher in the previous term.
