Polk City Kiwanis’ November Seniors of the Month

Laura Helen Badger has been chosen as a November Senior of the Month by the Polk City Kiwanis club. She is the daughter of Jamie and Barb Badger of Polk City and has two brothers, Sam and Alex.

Laura’s favorite subjects are math and art, and she is a member of the dance team, student council, Key Club and is the yearbook editor at school. She is on the Gold Honor Roll and is a member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society and National Art Honor Society. Outside of school, Laura is involved in Youth Group, and dancing and teaching at Michelle’s School of Dance.

She plans to attend DMACC, then transfer to Iowa State University to study engineering.

Megan Jeanne Murphy of Alleman has been chosen as a November Senior of the Month by the Polk City Kiwanis club. She is the daughter of Mike and Bonnie Murphy and has three sisters, twin Miranda, Riley and Jaedon.

Her favorite subjects in school are English composition and Spanish. She is involved in volleyball, basketball, golf and Key Club, and is on the Gold Honor Roll, National Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society. In the community, Megan is in Youth Group.

After graduation, she plans to go to a four-year college and major in exercise science.

Miranda Sue Murphy has been chosen as a November Senior of the Month by the Polk City Kiwanis club. She is the daughter of Mike and Bonnie Murphy of Alleman and has three sisters, twin Megan, Riley and Jaedon.

Miranda’s favorite subjects are foods and English, and she takes part in volleyball, basketball, golf, student council and Key Club. She is on the honor roll and is a member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society and Comet Care Service organization. Outside of school, Miranda is involved in Youth Group, elementary sports leagues and is a camp volunteer.

She plans to attend a four-year college and major in sports management and business.
