Braeden James Ingersoll has been chosen as a January Senior of the Month by the Polk City Kiwanis club. He is the son of Joseph and Tara Ingersoll of Polk City and has two siblings, Brianna Hatfield and Mahliah Ingersoll.

Braeden’s favorite subjects are history, AP literature and Spanish; he takes part in football, speech, golf, baseball, FFA, show choir and drama at school. His honors and awards include National Spanish Honor Society, first team all-district defensive back (football), team captain (football), varsity letters (football, speech, baseball) and all-state speech. Outside of school, Braeden is involved in Youth Group and is a student-led Bible study leader.

He plans to attend Simpson College, majoring in communication.

Christopher Matthew Flynn of Alleman has been chosen as a January Senior of the Month by the Polk City Kiwanis club. He is the son of Joe and Paula Flynn and has one brother, Joey.

His favorite subjects in school are Spanish and math. He is involved with cross country, golf and baseball, and is a member of the National Honor Society. In the community, Christopher takes part in Youth Group.

After graduation, he plans to attend Iowa State University for a bachelor’s degree.

Samantha Marie Sinclair has been chosen as a January Senior of the Month by the Polk City Kiwanis club. She is the daughter of Rob and Theresa Sinclair, and Jim and Crissy Honkomp, all of Polk City, and has three brothers: Nick, Tyler and Wyatt and three sisters: Nicole, Natasha and Jessica.

Samantha’s favorite subjects are Spanish, speech and English; she is a member of the cross country and track teams, and takes part in speech at school. She is on the honor roll, is a member of the Spanish National Honor Society and National Honor Society, and is a two-time state track qualifier, a two-time state cross country qualifier and was chosen second team all-conference cross country. Outside of school, Samantha is involved in Youth Group, Vacation Bible School, Children’s Church and Key Club.

She plans to attend a four-year college to study journalism and communications.
