ASPIRE meeting to be held Jan. 7

Denise Krefting, instructional technologist with Heartland AEA, will be the speaker for the January ASpire meeting, with a topic of “Using Social Media to Access Support Networks.” The meeting will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at the Heartland AEA office in Ames, 511 S. 17th St.

This presentation will take you into the world of social media sites that offer support to families facing the challenges of raising a child with special needs. Denise will show many of the sites that have been a help to her, and ASPIRE will introduce its new group page. Please join us for an informative evening and feel free to bring your laptops, iPads or phones so you can access these sites and hopefully share your favorites with everyone.

ASPIRE is a parent-led support group for parents, educators and professionals who have or work with children who have special needs. There is no cost to attend. For more information, contact Jamie Gurganus at jgurganus@heartlandaea.org or 515-232-7583.
