Attend Halloween Prowl at Saylorville Lake

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces the annual Halloween Prowl at the Saylorville Lake Visitor Center. Bring the youngsters for a real treat. Activities will include a hike on the haunted nature trail, a movie with treats and an indoor craft. The trail will be haunted with creatures that have an environmental message to share. Wear a costume of your own if you like! For those not so fond of the dark, meet at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, for a pre-school version of the Prowl that will last until 5 p.m. A grade-school version of the Prowl will meet at the Visitor Center at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26. The grade-school version will conclude at 9 p.m. Preregistration is required. To register, call Derek Murken at 515-276-4656, ext. 6507. Feel free to leave a message. The Saylorville Lake Visitor Center is located off Highway 415 on Horseshoe Road, seven miles north of Des Moines.
