Ballard student in ACTORS production

Ames Community Theater (ACTORS) closes its 58th season with an all-time favorite musical, “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.”

Ballard student Hannah Longnecker is appearing in this classic, which will be fun for the entire family.

This Tony Award-winning musical comedy follows J. Pierrepont Finch’s hilarious climb up the corporate ladder at the World Wide Wicket Company, based on advice from a little handbook called “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.” During his climb, Finch encounters a side-splitting assortment of corporate types including the philandering company president; the president’s scheming nephew; the company “yes men;” the vixen who goes after what she wants and Rosemary, Finch’s romantic interest. Ultimately, Ponty has to decide if climbing to the top of the ladder is worth stepping on all those friends and co-workers.

The ACTORS production is directed by Stan Rabe, with musical direction by Cynthia Marten and choreography by Susan Glass. “We are excited to be doing such a wonderful, old-time big musical again. We have one of the best casts we’ve ever had for an ACTORS musical,” says Rabe.

“How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” opens on Friday, June 13 and runs June 14, 20, 21, 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee on Sunday, June 29 at 2 p.m. ACTORS Studio is located at 120 Abraham Dr., Ames. Tickets are available at Gallery 319 in downtown Ames. For more information: 515-292-2073 or actorsinc.org.
