Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School at Collins Christian Church will be June 16-20, 6:30-8:30 p.m., ages 4 years through sixth grade, at the Collins Christian Church, 303 Main St., Collins.

Wright Learning Center

Please come celebrate the addition of the Wright Learning Center to the Collins Library by attending an Open House scheduled for Saturday, June 21, from 1-3.

Collins Days

The Collins Days Celebration, which has been a Collins Tradition for years, will persevere despite difficulties presented by the construction of the new bridge. The theme this year is “60 Years of Sharing and Caring - The Collins Lions Club” and it will be on Saturday, June 28.

Due to the road and bridge construction, the tractor pull and fireworks will not be able to safely be held. It is hoped that next year, the tradition will be continued.

Breakfast will be hosted by the American Legion, the Friends of the Library will host lunch after the parade and the annual chicken dinner will be provided by the Collins Lions Club as it has been in years past. The celebration will culminate with the traditional raffle at the fire station, with prizes donated by area businesses, organizations, and individuals. Plans are still in place for the Collins Day Parade, which has in years past been well represented by area organizations. Mike and Barb Robinette are the grand marshals this year. The Collins Maxwell High School band will be performing as usual, as well as a special performance by this year’s choir. A display of Collins memorabilia will be presented at the Collins Library in the Wright Learning Center. Anyone who wishes to display an item for this may drop items off during regular library hours, beginning June 16.

Various activities for the children as well as adults, including games and tournaments, will be held, with the addition of a volleyball tournament and a friendly horseshoes competition.
