A grocery store will soon be a part of the landscape in Huxley.
A Fareway store will be constructed on the north side of town along U.S Hwy 69, adjacent to the new South Story Bank.
Dan Culhane, president of the Ames Economic Development Commission that contracts economic development with the city of Huxley, believes the city’s first grocery store will be a boon to the area’s economy.
“This is a game changer for the Huxley community,” said Culhane. “The Fareway brand will be a real shot in the arm. Not only will it provide grocery services, but it provides an opportunity for other investments and future job-creating opportunities. The Fareway organization agrees with us that this a good place for them to be.”
