Trivia Night

Community Trivia Night is Friday, April 25, at the City Church, (formerly Oakwood Church), 2400 Oakwood Rd., starting at 6:30 p.m. Teams of up to eight people compete to answer questions about topics such as sports, movies, history, geography, and current events. Each team is encouraged to bring snacks and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy with teammates. Cost is $10 per person. Cash prizes of $150, $100 and $50 for the top three teams, and door prizes from local businesses will be awarded at the conclusion of the game. Volunteer Recognition

To show our appreciation to all our volunteers, Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut Ave. in Ames, is hosting a Volunteer Recognition Social on Wednesday, April 3, from 1-2:30 p.m. Jean Kresse, president and CEO of United Way of Story County will be our guest speaker and the program will begin at 1:30 p.m. Call Heartland at 515- 233-2906 or email pcraig@hsservicesia.com if you plan to attend.

Digitial Photography Class

Heartland Senior Services will offer a four-session Digital Photography Class on May 7, 9, 14 and 16, from 10-11:30 a.m. at Green Hills Retirement Community, 2200 Hamilton Dr., in Ames. The class, instructed by volunteer Herb Harmison, will discuss moving photos from a digital camera to computer, as well as organizing, editing and saving photos. It will also demonstrate how to print photos and attach pictures to e-mail. Personal laptops are welcome and all participants must bring their digital cameras.
