Closed for July 4th
Heartland Senior Services will be closed on Friday, July 4, for celebration of Independence Day. We will reopen on Monday, July 7. Have a fun and safe weekend.
Heartland Senior Services’ next Community Trivia Night will be Friday, July 25, at City Church (formerly Oakwood Church), 2400 Oakwood Rd., in Ames, starting at 6:30 p.m. Teams of five to eight people compete to answer questions about topics such as sports, movies, history, geography and current events. Each team is invited to bring their own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy throughout the night. Cost is $10 per person. Cash prizes for the top three teams and door prizes from local businesses will be awarded at the conclusion of the game. The proceeds from the evening help Heartland Senior Services continue to provide needed countywide programs for seniors, administered through adult day care, activities, nutrition (congregate and home-delivered meals) and outreach. Iowa State Fair day trip
Heartland Senior Services is planning its annual bus trip to the Iowa State Fair Wednesday, Aug. 13, which is Older American’s Day. We will leave Heartland Senior Services at 8 a.m. and arrive back in Ames by 4 p.m. The cost for the trip is $30, which includes motor coach transportation, admission ticket and discount coupon.
