Maxwell held its annual Spring Cleanup Day this past Saturday, giving city residents an opportunity to clean out garages, basements or rid themselves of items they couldn’t normally dispose of through their normal garbage service pickup. There were five large dumpsters for normal items, one for construction materials and one for metal. Starting a little before 7 a.m. and going until noon, there was a steady steam of cars, trucks and trailers. Some much-appreciated help came from eight Collins-Maxwell High School students, who worked for a couple of hours. They helped residents unload items, and sorted items into the correct dumpsters.
