Sandy Priori has a goal. She wants to serve quality food that tastes good, and she’s made it her motto: “It’s not fast food; it’s good food fast!”
Priori grew up in Ames and couldn’t wait to leave Iowa. After living in other parts of the country, she couldn’t wait to move back. Two years ago she moved back to Iowa and found a home in Huxley. She’s glad to be back in Iowa and can’t wait to start living her dream of owning and managing her own restaurant.
One of her goals is to have Guy Fieri from the Food Network show visit Iowa and visit her restaurant. Fieri hosts “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” and has never visited Iowa.
That’s in the future, but now she’s busy living her dream. She opened for business on July 16. Her menu has everything from wings to tenderloins and a variety of gourmet burgers. A few of the burgers include a Mac Attack Burger, covered in creamy macaroni and cheese; the Bomber Burger and a Chili Cheeseburger. Her sandwiches include tenderloins, ham and cheese, grilled cheese and Chicago-style hot dogs, just to name a few.
The lunch and dinner menus include a variety of hamburgers, sandwiches, wings, appetizers, comfort foods, salads, malts, shakes and floats. To view the menu, go to http://www.sandysgrillhuxley.com or just check out the latest on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/sandysgrillhuxley.
Priori said she won’t have a drive-up service, but she will use the drive-up window as a pick-up for call-in orders. The number to call in orders is 515-597-3287.
Sandy’s Grill is located on the south end of Huxley, on the east side of Highway 69 at 504 East First St.
