Sheriff’s Office Arrests Clears Six Rural Burglaries

After an extensive investigation, the Story County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jacob Robert Clair (34 years of age, 24816 73011i Avenue, Collins, IA) on one count of Ongoing Criminal Conduct (Class B Felony), one count of Theft 1st (Class C Felony), one count of Theft 3,-d (Aggravated Misdemeanor), six counts of Burglary 3rd (Class D Felony) and various drug and weapons charges. Investigators believe Clair entered several rural Story County homes over the course of the last six months, focusing on taking jewelry, precious metals, coins and firearms. A search warrant executed by the Story County Sheriff’s Office and the Central Iowa Drug Task Force resulted in officers recovering items reported stolen from those rural residences in Story County, along with items believed to be stolen from Marshall County. Officials from the Story County Sheriff’s Office continue to work with members of the Central Iowa Drug Task Force and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office as the investigation continues.
