South Story Bank & Trust’s commitment to the Ballard communities began with a new building in Slater that opened in early 2011. Now, with support from the Huxley community, South Story Bank & Trust will soon have a new building at 905 N. Hwy. 69, Huxley.
“South Story Bank & Trust is honored to take a leadership role in investing in the community by constructing this branch office. It shows our commitment to the community as we are the first business to build on the Highway 69 city-owned property,” said Kevin L. Brooks, president/CEO. “We anticipate that our investment in Huxley will create opportunities and that other businesses will acknowledge the location value and consider building on the adjacent city land.”
At its new location, the eco-friendly facility is strategically located between the bigger communities of Ames and Ankeny, meaning it can help serve the area and those who travel the Hwy. 69 corridor between Ames and Ankeny.
Interior construction of 8,500 square foot facility, is almost complete. Once frost is out of the ground, the exterior parking lots, lights, ATM and landscaping will be completed.
Fifteen of the bank’s 23 employees will be housed at the new building, where there will be room to add more staff as needed. The new facility is expected to open in late May or early June.
South Story Bank & Trust is part of the Greene Investment Company of banks, owned by the Garst family.
