Two men have been arrested in connection with a break-in and theft at some farm buildings near Cambridge last month.
Earl Leonard Nelson, 48, of Ankeny, and William Bruce Telleen, 38, of Perry, were arrested Tuesday, July 9, and charged with third-degree burglary, a Class D felony.
They were arrested by Ankeny police on a Story County warrant. They were transported to the county line, where Story County deputies took custody of them early Tuesday morning, officials with the Story County Sheriff’s Office said.
Officials said the men allegedly broke into two outbuildings on a farm on 340th Street, southwest of Cambridge, on June 18, and stole tools valued at more than $8,600. The tools have not been recovered.
Doors to both buildings were kicked in, with a padlock on one of the doors being cut, officials said.
