Dana Kent Halverson

Dana Kent Halverson, 62, of Ankeny (formerly of Slater) passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends on February 19, 2014.

A visitation was held Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater. Services were held immediately following at the church.

Dana was born April 25, 1951 in Des Moines, IA to Everett and Verna Halverson. He graduated from Ballard High School in 1969. He was married and had two children, Brandon and Julie. He was self-employed as a drywall contractor, and then went to work for Hy-Vee in Ankeny for the past 11 years.

In March of 2006 he then married Dorene and made their home in Ankeny.

Dana was a loyal Hawkeye fan who loved watching basketball, gardening, taking care of his cats and fish. He was a very devoted father who enjoyed being with his family and numerous friends.

He is survived by his wife Dorene; his children Brandon (Sarah) Halverson, Julie (Todd) Scebold; step-children Brad (Kim) Miller, Josh Miller, Greg (Shari) Miller; grandchildren, Taylor & Toby Linder, Jake & Hannah Scebold, Zach & Mallory Halverson, Breanna, Finley, Jayden, Jackson & Lynlee Miller; brothers, Gary Halverson & Rod (Janice) Halverson; mother in-laws, Dotti Ingram & Judy Kenney.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
