Elnora Lucille Christopher (Ringgenberg) August 31, 1925 - December 4, 2013
Elnora “Blue Eyes” Christopher, 88, of Sheldahl, Iowa passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of December 4, 2013 in Bothell, WA after a brief illness.
Elnora Ringgenberg was born August 31, 1925 in Polk Co., Iowa to Claude and Bertha (Butterfield) Ringgenberg. She was the oldest of three children and graduated from Sheldahl HS in 1942.
She married Dale Marion Christopher, on Sept. 24, 1948 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They built their home in Sheldahl in 1951 and welcomed their only child, Lori, in 1959.
Elnora had a lifelong career as a baker for North Polk Elem. Schools. The favorite part of her job was being in service to children. After retirement she enjoyed working with friends at Central Iowa Floral.
Elnora was a member of the Sheldahl United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, supporting North Polk and ISU athletics and Mariner’s baseball. Above all, “Blue Eyes” was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
In 2008, she moved to live with her daugther, Lori; son-in-law Donald and grandson Martin in their home in Bothell, WA. She adored her grandson and spent many happy years watching him grow up.
Elnora was preceded in death by her husband Dale; her brother Carroll and wife Carolyn. She is survived by her daughter Lori and husband Don; grandson Martin; brother L. Dean Ringgenberg and wife LaVon of Ames.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, May 18, 2:00 pm at the Sheldahl United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Sheldahl Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Sheldahl UMC.
