Marjorie Huser

Marjorie Huser, 89, of Slater, passed away May 11, 2014 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday, May 16 at Slater United Methodist Church in Slater. Burial will be in the Slater City Cemetery.

Marjorie Ellen Huser was born January 2, 1925 to Claud and Eva (Elwood) Ruark in Chariton, Iowa. Marjorie and LaVerne Huser were married March 24, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa. She worked as an administrative assistant for the Department of Public Safety at Iowa State University. Marjorie was a member of Slater United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being outdoors, flowers, cooking, knitting and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Marjorie is survived by three sons, Vernon Huser, of Ankeny, Jim Huser, of Chandler, Arizona and Randy Huser, of Slater; two grandchildren, Will Huser and Nick Huser; three great-grandchildren; and her sister, Nadine Dipaglia, of Scottsdale, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LaVerne; three brothers, Junior, Gerald and Lee; and two sisters, Mary Ann and Esther.
