Wallace Olsan

Wallace “Wally” Joel Olsan, 83, of West Des Moines died on Friday, June 14, 2013, at his home. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 19, at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 708 Fifth Street in Nevada, with Rev. Laura Evans-Mahn officiating. Private burial rites followed in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Wally was born on May 30, 1930, in Nevada to Milos “Mike” and Hazelle (Patten) Olsan. He was a graduate of Nevada High School and Drake University. In 1957, Wally was united in marriage to Lois M. French. He was a member of the award-winning West Des Moines Dixieland Band. Wally was an avid lifelong Cardinals fan and enjoyed watching sports. He will be remembered for his sense of humor.

Wally is survived by his wife, Lois Olsan of West Des Moines, and a street full of loving neighbors.

Preceding Wally in death were his parents and a brother, Wayne Olsan.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada was entrusted with the care of Wally and his family.
