Present Huxley mayor asks that residents vote

To the editor:

Citizens of Huxley, I wish to take this opportunity to “thank you” for your past support and ask you to vote in the upcoming general election next Tuesday, Nov. 5. I am running for re-election as Mayor and there are five individuals running for three seats on the Huxley City Council. Your vote will make a difference in this election.

When I first became a member of city government in 1999, my objectives were to listen, learn and improve our City. As a citizen of this great community, I firmly believe that our City has grown and improved. We have a City Administration and staff, as well as many volunteers, of which to be proud. As both a council member and as Mayor, I have worked diligently to represent you, listened to your concerns, focused on our city’s infrastructure and services, and planned for the future. I have had the great privilege to work with many of you who volunteer time in serving on our many city planning and service organizations. It has been a pleasure listening to concerns and ideas while working together for the common good of the Huxley community.

Because of the dedication of these volunteers, we have an ambulance service which serves our community; improved and lowered our fire insurance ratings; great parks and recreational opportunities; plus many other great amenities that give Huxley a great quality of life for its residents.

As Mayor, I hope to continue our open citizen’s meetings, city forums to discuss important topics and business forums to promote our City. I look forward to the opportunity to continue working for the citizens of Huxley. Please remember to vote on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Craig D. Henry

Mayor, City of Huxley
