CARROLL – The Ballard boys’ golf team had a strong day at the Carroll Country Club April 24 as the Bombers won a triangular meet with Carroll and Boone.
The Bombers shot a 151 over nine holes. They easily beat Boone’s runner-up score of 167 and Carroll came in with a 172.
Nash Bucher was the top individual golfer for Ballard. Bucher shot a 36 to earn medalist runner-up honors.
Nick Hartman, Ty Mason and Mason Jensen also turned in rounds under 40 for Ballard. Hartman carded a 37 and Mason and Jensen both finished with a 39 as the other scored golfers for the Bombers.
Carroll’s Zach Riddle was the meet’s medalist as he shot a 35.
Final team scores (nine holes): 1. Ballard 151, 2. Boone 167, 3. Carroll 172.

RHODES – Ballard wasn’t quite able to keep pace with strong Gilbert and Creston teams at the Ballard Invitational April 22 at the Harvester Golf Course near Rhodes.
Competing on one of the premier courses in the state, Ballard shot a 332 over 18 holes. The Bombers finished 12 strokes behind Gilbert’s winning score, 10 strokes behind Creston and they defeated Nevada by 24 strokes in the four-team competition.
Nash Bucher and Nick Hartman were the only Bombers to shoot an 80 or better. Bucher carded a 78 and Hartman finished with an 80.
Mason Jensen and Mike McVicker turned in the other counted scores for Ballard. Jensen shot an 84 and McVicker finished with a 90.
Creston’s Carson Whittington was the meet’s medalist with a 74. Gilbert’s Garret Jensen shot a 76 to earn runner-up honors.
Final team scores (18 holes): 1. Gilbert 320, 2. Creston 322, 3. Ballard 332, 4. Nevada 356.
