GRANGER – The Collins-Maxwell-Baxter boys’ golf team concluded its season with an eighth-place finish at the Class 2A sectional meet at the Jester Park Golf Course May 14.
The Raider boys shot a 413 over 18 holes to finish 11 strokes in back of West Marshall’s seventh-place score. Prairie City-Monroe won the sectional title with a 318 and Pella Christian won a card-back with Des Moines Christian for second after both teams shot a 333.
Garrett Husske turned in the top score for CMB as he carded an 88. Husske shot a 46 on the front and 42 down the back stretch to finish in a three-way tie for 18th overall.
Caleb Van Zante had nine-hole rounds of 49 and 53 to finish with a 102. Brevin Johnston carded a 109 with rounds of 52 and 57 and Jake Hennick and Sean Deakins both finished with a 114 for the Raiders.
Des Moines Christian’s Ryan Minor was the meet’s medalist with a 74 and PCM’s Devon Woody took medalist runner-up with a 77. PCM’s Wade Hill and Ryan Jennings each finished with an 80 and the Mustangs’ Justin Beener carded an 81 to place fifth.
