CMB loses a pair of 2-1 games

CHARITON – The Collins-Maxwell-Baxter girls’ soccer team suffered a 2-1 road loss at the hands of Chariton April 20 in Chariton.

The Raiders were outshot by a slight 15-14 margin. Tabitha Halferty scored an unassisted goal for CMB’s only score.

Lexi Breon played a strong game at keeper as she made 14 saves in a losing effort. Emily Grismore and Vicki Slobodyanik each scored once for Chartion.

The loss put CMB at 2-9 on the season.

KNOXVILLE – Collins-Maxwell-Baxter couldn’t quite get over the hump in an even matchup with Knoxville May 15 in Knoxville as the Raiders were dealt a 2-1 setback.

Both teams ended up with 13 shots. Taylor Dulaney led CMB with six shots, Tabitha Halferty tallied four and Katie Ziesman finished with three.

Ziesman scored CMB’s lone goal of the game. Hailey Alcorn and Saran Holtby each netted one for Knoxville.

Lexi Breon made seven saves at keeper for the Raiders.
