Ballard senior Brooke Mallon signed a Letter of Intent to play college softball at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge Jan. 15 at Ballard High School in Huxley.

Mallon, the daughter of Casey and Stacie Mallon of Woodward, was the starting catcher on Ballard’s Class 3A state championship team two years ago. She was also an all-Raccoon River Conference performer for Ballard last season after helping the Bombers go 25-11 overall and end up 12-4 in perhaps the toughest conference in the entire state.

Mallon hit .327 last year with four home runs and 17 RBI. She also threw out nine runners from behind the plate and posted a .971 fielding average.
