NP girls win two meets

Comets take quadrangular at Story City

POLK CITY – The North Polk girls’ golf team scored a decisive victory over Bondurant-Farrar May 9 at the Tournament Club of Iowa.

North Polk shot a 222 over nine holes to beat Bondurant-Farrar by 30 strokes for the victory.

Megan Petersen dominated individually for the Comets as she carded a 48 to beat Bondurant-Farrar’s Amy Stock by eight strokes for medalist honors. Mackenzie Smith, Megan Murphy and Bethany Wilson each shot a 58 to round out the scoring for North Polk.

STORY CITY – North Polk stepped up with a strong showing the Riverside Golf Course May 7 in Story City as the Comets won a quadrangular meet with Roland-Story, Greene County and Collins-Maxwell-Baxter.

North Polk shot a 205 over nine holes to beat Roland-Story by 19 strokes for the win. Greene County was third with a 258 and CMB shot a 270.

Megan Petersen was the medalist for North Polk with a solid round of 45. Miranda Murphy was tabbed medalist runner-up with a 52.

Amy Lund and Bethany Wilson each shot a 54 to round out the scoring for North Polk.

Final team scores (nine holes): 1. North Polk 205, 2. Roland-Story 224, 3. Greene County 258, 4. CMB 270.
